    Arizona courts address abortion industry challenges to Informed Consent, Parental Consent and Conscience
    Various Arizona abortionists and abortion facilities (Planned Parenthood among them) filed two separate lawsuits, one in state court, one in federal court. The suits sought to enjoin common sense laws recently enacted by the Arizona legislature related to informed consent for abortion, parental consent for minors, and health care rights of conscience. Absent any injunction, the various statutory provisions were to go into effect in Arizona at midnight, September 30, 2009.

    Dr. Ian Wilmut, the scientist who created Dolly the sheep, "has decided not to pursue a licence to clone human embryos, which he was awarded just two years ago, as part of a drive to find new treatments." In a show of scientific integrity, the cloning pioneer stated that he will now pursue a rival method pioneered in Japan which regresses an adult stem cell back to its "embryonic" state without having to create a cloned human embryo or use eggs.
