Together, we are making a difference – in lives saved and hearts changed. With your support, 2010 has seen outstanding pro-life progress, even in the face of unprecedented challenges at the federal level.

Here’s a sampling of our 2010 progress that YOU make possible:

-    HANDS ON HELP: The Life Choice Project - with $1.5 million in annual public funding initiated with legislative efforts by BDF’s Dorinda Bordlee - reports that 5,000 babies have been saved each year since 2002 in participating LA pregnancy resource centers;

-  WINDOW ON THE WOMB: BDF-drafted Ultrasound Before Abortion law passed in Louisiana – requiring abortionists to give women a list of pro-life centers offering free ultrasound at least 24-hours before an abortion; and requiring the woman be given an ultrasound exam at the abortion clinic with a script informing her of her option to view the ultrasound and receive a print;

-  LEGISLATION: Human Cloning, Destructive Human Embryo Experimentation and Cash-induced human ova harvesting for cloning experimentation banned in Arizona; Human-animal hybrids banned in Oklahoma;  Obamacare Abortion Insurance Opt-outs drafted and passed in Arizona, Louisiana, along with 3 other states in 2010; dozens pending for 2011.

- LITIGATION: LA Ultrasound bill in effect after court injunction lifted; Favorable preliminary rulings in on-going legal challenges to Obamacare and Obama’s tax-funded human embryo research. BDF is representing scientists and medical doctors in amicus briefs, emphasizing the conscience rights and the biological humanity of the human embryos;

-EDUCATION: Engaging debates and lectures led by BDF’s Nikolas T. Nikas in nearly 30 venues, including law schools, medical schools and litigation academies, including U.C. Berkeley Law School, Stanford Law School and Creighton Medical School, and the University of Notre Dame.
